Buffalo Bill Dam Turns 100

Posted by admin on February 3, 2010

Located on the Shoshone River just west of Cody, Wyoming, the Buffalo Bill Dam was completed in January 1910. The dam was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. If you find yourself traveling through Cody, plan to stop at the dam to enjoy spectacular views of Shoshone Canyon. Check out the Buffalo Bill Dam Visitor Center, open daily throughout the summer season, to learn more about the dam’s engineering, construction, and history.
